Basic Rigging Level 1
This course outlines practices and techniques to sling and rig load in a safe manner according to: CSA (Canadian Standards Association) Z150-98 regulation, applicable across Canada; ANSI (American National Standards Institute); ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). There will also be a practical portion.
Topics include:
- Pre-lift hazard assessments
- Rigging Legislation
- Lift Plans
- Sling construction and inspection
- Sling angle factors and safe working load limits
- Types of rigging hitches
- Determining sling types, sizes and configurations using sling capacity charts
- Practical rigging experience
3-year certificate upon completion.
Attendees must bring basic PPE including hard hat & steel toe boots
