This course outlines practices and techniques to sling and rig load in a safe manner according to: CSA (Canadian Standards Association) Z150-98 regulation, applicable across Canada; ANSI (American National Standards Institute); ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). There will also be a practical portion.

Topics include:

  • Pre-lift hazard assessments
  • Rigging Legislation
  • Lift Plans
  • Sling construction and inspection
  • Sling angle factors and safe working load limits
  • Types of rigging hitches
  • Determining sling types, sizes and configurations using sling capacity charts 
  • Practical rigging experience

3-year certificate upon completion.

Attendees must bring basic PPE including hard hat & steel toe boots
