"Inspection" means a monthly "quick check"; that an extinguisher is available and will operate; is fully charged and operable; is in its designated location; has not been actuated or tampered with; and there is no obvious or physical damage or condition to prevent its operation. "Service" means an annual "thorough check" of the extinguisher, including a thorough examination and identifies any necessary repair, replacement, or the need for hydrostatic testing. The intent is to provide maximum assurance that an extinguisher will operate effectively and safely.
